National Recovery Crusade

In 1933, America sagged beneath the weight of an awesome economic depression. Despite these desperate times, Exchange had grown in both numbers and influence. And when President Franklin D. Roosevelt requested the assistance of Exchange in the urgent task of national recovery, the challenge was accepted. With local Exchange Clubs preparing the way, National Exchange Club officers embarked on an ambitious National Recovery Crusade, traveling hundreds of thousands of miles carrying a positive message of encouragement and enthusiasm. "Unity for Service" was once again translated into effective action.

While Exchange holds to a basic format common to all service clubs regular breakfast, luncheon or dinner program meetings with abundant networking it is the word "service" and the fact that Exchange has chosen to remain strictly national in scope and purpose that marks it as unique.
