Other Projects

Other projects in the Community Service category offer a variety of activities from which local clubs are free to choose those best suited to their capabilities and the community's needs. Programs in this category include:

- The Book of Golden Deeds Award,
- Service to Seniors
- Fire Prevention

The Book of Golden Deeds, the oldest of Exchange programs, was first sponsored in 1919 by the Exchange Club of I Huntington, Ind. Its purpose is to recognize the good deeds of heroes and heroines of everyday life.

In optional local club projects, Exchange Clubs have been responsible for community improvements of all types such as: museums, cultural centers and programs-, beautification of highways, air, art and industrial shows, state and county fairs; war memorials; festivals, rodeos; athletic events, and millions of dollars for scholarships, gifts, equipment, sponsorships, educational endeavors, and other causes.
