Meetings, Dues, & Fees

DUES AND ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

Dues are paid in advance to the Club Treasurer. Dues are payable on the first Monday of each month unless a different arrangement is made with the Club Treasurer. If a member leaves the Club for any reason, a letter of resignation should be submitted to the Secretary requesting dismissal from the Club. In order for an individual who resigns from membership to be eligible for reinstatement in the Club or transfer to another Exchange Club, all dues must be paid up to date.

Any member who is delinquent in an amount equal to four months dues, will receive a letter from the Club Secretary stating that he will be suspended or placed on probation if dues are not received by a specific date. If the dues are not paid a four month suspension period will be applied, during which time the member will be allowed to pay the dues account in full. During this four month period dues will continue to be accessed at the rate charged to the Club by the National Exchange Club and Mississippi District Exchange Club—currently $5.00 per month. If all dues, including those accrued during the period of suspension, are not paid in full at the end of the four month period the member will be dropped from the membership of the Club.

Members are encouraged to attend each Club meeting; however, their dues account will be charged for meal and meeting cost even when they are not in attendance. Exchangites are not required to make up missed meetings. A made-up meeting with another Exchange Club will be recognized by the Club and recorded by the Secretary. This policy provides members seeking to attain 100% attendance records an opportunity to do so when they cannot attend due to being out of town, conflicting appointments, etc.

When a member is out of town, he is encouraged to attend meetings of other Exchange Clubs. Exchangites meet other Exchangites, many of whom they might not otherwise have an opportunity to meet at Inter-Club meetings, District Conventions, or other Exchange functions. Attendance at other Exchange Clubs allows a first hand view of what other Clubs are doing in their communities.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

A leave of absence may be requested. The request should be in writing and submitted to the Club Secretary. All such requests will be presented to the Board of Directors. Approvals will not normally exceed 90 days. Dues of $5.00 per month will be accessed while the member is in this status. Regular Club dues must be paid up to date before a member goes into inactive status.

JOINING FEE

New members and reinstated members are required to pay a joining fee of $25.00 plus their first month's dues (which will be $23.00 for the full month or two meetings or $11.50 if there is only one additional meeting left in that month).

NATIONAL EXCHANGE CLUB LAPEL PIN

All members are presented a National Exchange Club membership lapel pin when they join our Club. Members are encouraged to wear their pin at all times. Members are expected to wear their pin to all Exchange Club meetings. Members who fail to wear their pin to regular Club meetings may be accessed a $.25 fine (which will go into "the pot"). The winner of "the pot" is randomly selected by a guest at each meeting.
